January on the subject of certain

areas of land in military occupa-

tion at sham Shui Po, and to

inform you that the Army Council,

who have been approached in the

matter have expressed regret that

it has been necessary to remain

so long in occupation of the areas

in question, and have stated that

they do not fail in appreciation

of the Hong Kong Government's

action in allowing the occupation

to continue without raising the

question
